Cycle Sandusky County Bike Share
Cycle Sandusky County Bike Share, generously funded by Sandusky County Public Health’s Creating Healthy Communities program, was made possible through a collaboration between several local organizations including the YMCA of Sandusky County, TRIPS, Spokelife Cycles, Flatlanders Bike Club, Hayes Presidential Library & Museum, and The Sandusky County Visitors Bureau. The bike share concept has revolutionized the way residents engage with their surroundings. This “Borrow a Bike” concept is housed at the YMCA of Sandusky County, and offers a remarkable opportunity for individuals to access bicycles without any financial burden. Aspiring cyclists can easily borrow bikes from the YMCA, during their borrowing hours, for active transportation and healthier lifestyles. The program not only promotes physical fitness but also emphasizes the community’s dedication to sustainability and well-being. By making bicycles available at no cost, the Cycle Sandusky County Bike Share Program showcases the power of collaborative efforts in creating a more vibrant, active, and environmentally conscious community. While this program is housed at the YMCA, it is a community-owned and community-focused program, with the revenue from sponsorships and late fees being reinvested into maintenance and future expansion. This program drives home the Y’s commitment to be a collaborative, community-focused organization.
